THE DEADLINE FOR THIS GRANT IS DECEMBER 18, 2024.

The Fire Protection Service Grant is available to rural and municipal volunteer fire departments for the purchase of fire equipment and supplies.

Guidelines to apply for the Fire Protection Service Grant:

• Requested funds must be for the purchase of equipment or supplies directly related to firefighting.
• Fire Department must serve a community with a population less than 20,000
• Firefighting personnel is 80% or more volunteer
• Minimum amount of $5,000.00 to a maximum amount of $30,000.00

Required Documentation:

• Completed signed application
• Vendor quotes for the purchase.
• Letter stating why the application should be considered for funding
• How will the purchase benefit the community

Award notification:

• An award packet will be emailed to the Departments point of contact as listed on the application. The award packet includes:
  o Award Letter
  o Instruction on to register as a vendor and set up a vendor # with the State.

Purchasing and Award Payment:
Purchasing must be achieved by the Departments procurement methods. Awards are for the final vendor quote. Unused portions of the award must be returned to ADEM Office of Fire Service within 30 days of delivery of purchase.

2. Print out the above form and get it signed.
3. Scan in the signed document.
4. Use the below form to attach, you must zip your files for them to attach:
   • Attach the Fire Protection Grant Form from above.
   • Attach any vendor quotes for requested equipment.
   • Attach any continuing documentation for questions 13 and 14 from the above form.
