Background Check
ACIC does not provide background checks. If you are needing a background check, please contact Arkansas State Police at 501-618-8000 or visit their webpage.
If you feel your record is inaccurate and you would like to review it, please complete and return the following Authorization for Review of Criminal History form. If you believe your record is inaccurate, it is up to you or your attorney to contact the court to request the correct documentation be provided to ACIC to update the record.

Sealing Your Record
ACIC is unable to assist you in determining which Order to Seal form you should use.
If you are unable to determine which Order to Seal is correct you should seek advice from an attorney. You can also contact Arkansas Legal Aid at 1-800-9 LAW AID (1-800-952-9243).
After completing the Petition and Order to Seal you should take them to the court in which you were sentenced. They will provide you with further instructions.
After the Order to Seal has been approved by the Judge and filed within the court, the clerk will forward the Order to Seal to ACIC for us to update our records. If you would like to give a copy of your completed Order to Seal to us directly, you can mail, fax or hand deliver it to our office.
The Arkansas State Law allows ACIC 30 days to complete an Order to Seal from the date it is received by ACIC.
