Cody Hiland, former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, has been named Chief Legal Counsel for the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, Secretary Jami Cook announced today. Hiland, of Conway, will assume the duties of leading the DPS legal staff effective Monday, June 14th. “Cody’s experience as a U.S. Attorney and 20th Judicial District prosecuting attorney is an ideal fit in representing the Department of Public Safety operations. Cody has proven himself as an advocate for the people of our state and a champion of those who are called to serve and protect the citizens,” said Secretary Cook.
