Arkansas Code Annotated § 5-73-325 allows the Arkansas State Hospital, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and any institution of higher education that hosts or sponsors a collegiate athletic event to designate certain areas as a firearm-sensitive area where possession of a concealed handgun is prohibited. To be designated as a firearm-sensitive area, an entity must submit a security plan, as described in Ark. Code Ann. § 5-73-325, to the Arkansas State Police and the plan must be approved.
