Establishment:
The Arkansas Human Trafficking Council (AHTC) was established within the Criminal Investigation Division under the purview of Arkansas Department of Public Safety in compliance with the requirements of the Grant to establish a multi-disciplinary task force to achieve the purposes of the grant program and to assist the Coordinator and ADPS in achieving the goals and objectives of the Grant award.
Purpose:
The Arkansas Human Trafficking Council (AHTC) is a partnership of the Office of the Attorney General, Department of Human Services,, and the Criminal Investigation Division, Division of Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Department of Public Safety.
In a victim-centered, collaborative, and multi-disciplinary model, we Partner to Prevent Trafficking, Protect Victims and Prosecute Criminals in all forms of domestic and international human trafficking, to include commercial sex trafficking and labor trafficking, for the protection of both adult and minor victims. The AHTC meets monthly, and the subcommittees meet depending on need.
Goals:
Goal 1: To develop, sustain, and strengthen the Task Force, which is a multidisciplinary, co-leadership task force.
Goal 2: To identify all forms of human trafficking.
Goal 3: To provide all victims access to services.
Goal 4: To investigate and prosecute HT cases at the local, state, and federal levels.
Goal 5: To address individualized service needs through a comprehensive array of service providers.
