Three Arkansas State Troopers were promoted to the rank of sergeant today. The promotions were approved during a meeting of the Arkansas State Police Commission.
Each of the troopers had been recommended for promotion by Colonel Bill Bryant, Director of the Arkansas State Police.
Corporal Charles “Chuck” Lewis, 53, of Lonoke County, was promoted to the rank of sergeant. He is a twenty-three year veteran of the department.
Sergeant Lewis will assume post supervisory duties within the department’s Highway Patrol Division, Troop A.
Corporal Greg Dycus, 50, of Faulkner County, was promoted to the rank of sergeant. He is a twenty-two year veteran of the department.
Sergeant Dycus will assume supervisory duties within the department’s Highway Patrol Division Crash Reconstruction Section.
Corporal Derek Nietert, 32, of Franklin County, was promoted to the rank of sergeant. He is a seven year veteran of the department.
Sergeant Nietert will assume post supervisory duties within the department’s Highway Patrol Division, Troop H.
