The ASCL is discontinuing certain services as of August 1, 2018. Increasing numbers of case submissions and increasing turn-around times have necessitated these changes, which are designed to free up resources while having a minimal impact on cases.

On August 1, the lab will no longer perform:

• Quantitation (percent purity) of controlled substances
• Analysis of:                  
  • Glass
  • Paint
  • Fibers
  • Hair (comparison)
  • Headlamp filaments
  • Duct tape
  • Physical matches
  • General physical/chemical properties

Please note, however, that we will still perform these analyses on any cases which have already been submitted for analysis.
