Arkansas State Police Corporal Kevin Steed, 39, of Garland County, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant and will assume post supervisor duties within Highway Patrol Division, Troop K.

The recommendation for promotion was presented to the Arkansas State Police Commission by Colonel Bill Bryant, director of the state police, during a regular monthly meeting with commissioners today.

Sergeant Steed is a sixteen year veteran of the department.
