Lieutenant David Lafferty, 57, of Garland County was promoted to the rank of captain today.  The recommendation for promotion was presented to the Arkansas State Police Commission by Colonel Bill Bryant, state police director.

  Captain Lafferty is a twenty-nine year veteran of the department.  He was formerly commander of CID Company C and now assumes duties as Criminal Investigation Division assistant commander.
