VAN BUREN, Ark. — On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, around 6:45 a.m., Arkansas State Police (ASP) Troopers stopped a rented gray 2024 Nissan Kicks on Interstate 40 eastbound at the 5-mile marker in Crawford County for a traffic violation.
Troopers searched the vehicle and discovered 22 one-pound packages of illegal marijuana and 170 rolled marijuana joints.
Troopers arrested the driver, Delavontay Davis, 36, of Goodlettsville, Tenn., and the passenger, Tedra Hendricks, 29, of Columbia, S.C., and transported them to the Crawford County Detention Center. Both were booked on felony charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Davis told investigators he was traveling from California to Nashville, Tenn.
Also, on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, ASP Troopers stopped a 2023 white Subaru Crosstrek around 2:39 p.m. at the 3-mile marker on I-40 eastbound for a traffic violation.
Troopers searched the vehicle and found 16 pounds of illegal marijuana and more than a pound of methamphetamine, along with various drug paraphernalia. Troopers arrested the driver, Doyle Dunn, 45, of Alexander, and transported him to the Crawford County Detention Center.
Dunn was booked and charged with felony counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession with Purpose to Deliver, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Dunn told investigators he was returning from a vacation in California.
On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at approximately 1:18 p.m., ASP stopped a white 2022 Chrysler Pacifica for a traffic violation on I-40 eastbound near the 5-mile marker.
Troopers searched the vehicle and discovered 11 large duffel bags containing a total of 258 pounds of illegal marijuana and multiple vacuum sealed bags of THC products. Troopers also located methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.
Troopers arrested Mikie Rose, 66, of Hastings, Fla., and transported her to the Crawford County Detention Center, where she was booked on felony charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Deliver.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., ASP Troopers stopped a rented 2022 white Jeep Grand Cherokee on I-40 East at the 4-mile marker due to a traffic violation. A search of the SUV revealed 8 pounds of high-grade, illegal marijuana in a suitcase. The driver, David Franklin, 43, of Eden, N.C., was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Detention Center, where he was charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Franklin told investigators he was traveling from California to North Carolina.
