MAY 7, 2021 (UPDATED MAY 8, 2021)
The Arkansas State Police is investigating the discovery of human remains off Interstate 40 (westbound) near Morgan at the 140 mile marker. The remains were discovered about 10:30 this morning (Friday, May 7th) and are believed to be those of a male.
Special Agents of the Criminal Investigation Division are handling the investigation. While tentative identification of the body has been made, agents are attempting to locate next of kin. (*Updated) Today (Saturday, May 8th) agents confirmed the identification of the remains as those of Phillip Robinson, 44, of Little Rock.
The body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory where the manner and cause of death will be determined. The State Medical Examiner is expected to provide the state police with a report providing more information as to when Robinson may have died.
