At approximately 2:23 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, an Arkansas State Police (ASP) Trooper conducted a traffic stop in Little Rock at Stagecoach Road and Interstate 430 South, which led to the seizure of six firearms and 42 grams of illegal, black-market marijuana.
Two of the firearms were Glock handguns with an attached switch, an illegal modification that allows firearms to operate in a fully automatic or semi-automatic capacity.
Four individuals, ages 16-19, were transported to ASP Headquarters, where they were interviewed by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). All suspects were subsequently transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center on charges including Improper Display of License Plate, Carrying a Weapon, Criminal Use of Prohibited Weapons, and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms.
Those convicted of federal charges associated with possession of a handgun with a switch can expect to serve 90% of their sentence.
