On September 17, 1991, the Wilmar residence of William Earl Griffin was discovered to be on fire. Mr. Griffin was found deceased in the front yard near the porch, having died from blunt force trauma to the head and possible strangulation. He was last seen alive in his yard earlier on that same day.
